"Unapologetic"
-Written by Antonio De Villar
Am I the pain of your infliction?
Am I the hate behind your frustration—
a lost cause built from your own conviction,
pulling me out from the inside
with guilty words that never end,
consuming me whole
like a flame that feeds on my quiet?
These wounds—
these wounds that refuse to heal—
tell me, what happened to unconditional love?
Your warm skin once burned right through me,
but even warmth can blister a heart.
Did I stay too long,
or was it something I said?
Did I lie to you,
or was it simply a miscalculated feeling
you chose to turn into a weapon?
To hell with your judgment,
your smoldering aggravation.
I’m no longer carrying what doesn’t belong to me.
I won’t be your mirror for blame.
I’m closing the door on rejection.
I’m choosing a new direction.
I’m finding a road untouched by your shadows,
a horizon clear enough for my own becoming.
Let the world whisper—
I refuse to drown in silence
or in the bitterness of someone else’s lies.
I am stepping forward,
unafraid of my true nature.
It matters not where I go—
there’s no telling
where my unapologetic mind will lead.
All that matters now
is that you understand this truth:
I move with respect,
and I will no longer bend
for those who offer none.
