Lost One

Lost One

Written by Antonio De Villar

I remember the days when you were here—
when laughter filled the air,
and time felt endless.
Now, I laugh alone,
and forever seems to linger everywhere.

Your absence births a silence,
your memory makes me cry.
There’s so much left unspoken—
why did you have to die?

We never always got along,
yet we could never stay apart.
Now your absence cuts so deep,
an anger buried in my heart.

You always made me happy,
you always made me smile.
Those moments we shared together—
I’d relive them for a while.

You were my truest friend,
the one I could depend upon.
You brought me peace and laughter,
and now, that light is gone.

Oh, how I feel your memory—
a whisper within my chest.
I see us there together still,
where love once found its rest.

I wish that you could see inside
the ache I hold today—
to feel what I am feeling,
to hear what I would say.
How much I miss your presence near,
how much I long to see you here.

I can’t wait till we’re together,
when heaven opens wide.
We’ll talk of all the moments missed,
with love that never died.

When I see you in eternity,
I’ll have so much more to say.
And we’ll be forever—
I can’t wait until that day.
